Power of Prayer

In the Bible, Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” I love this verse, because it is a great reminder that all we need to do is pray and have faith, knowing that God is in control and can overcome anything.

As humans, we often underestimate the power of prayer. It seems we are all inclined to worry and stress about our circumstances, rather than praying and truly trusting in Jesus’ power to answer our prayers in His time. It’s so incredibly hard to accept that we are not in control, and even though we pray, we also still tend to worry. If I’m being honest, as I’m writing this I’m trying not to worry about some circumstances in my own life, so I know that this is much easier said than done. However, I take comfort in knowing that God is in complete control, He hears my prayers, He has a great plan for me, and His will shall be done.

It is my prayer that we can all take the time to pray, repent, give up all of our worries to Jesus, and have unwavering faith in Him. I’m so incredibly grateful for Jesus’ unconditional love, and that He is always there listening to my prayers. Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend, but we should never forget the power of prayer and faith. We have a loving savior who took the punishment for us; He can wash away all of our sins, and He is always right there by our side so we can simply pray and ask for His help.
