In the Bible, Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” This can be much easier said than done, especially when this means we have to accept that we are not in control. I like to be in control; I like to plan ahead and know what to expect. The unknown and uncertainty used to scare me, and if I’m being truthful, at times it still does. However, I know that all I need to do is pray, completely trust in Jesus, and give up all of my worries to Him.
Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” We need to have continual trust in Jesus, but that can be difficult, as the devil will try relentlessly to make us doubt. Always remember that God is in control and have complete faith in Him. Without trust and faith, it is impossible to please God. We should make it our purpose to please God and trust in Him each day.
As we trust in the Lord and grow closer to Him, we are being transformed into the image of Christ, and should resemble Him more. Though we may experience trials in our lives, we should have faith knowing that Jesus is always right by our side, and there is a reason for everything that we experience in our lives, both good and bad. In Scripture, 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 says, “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
I know without a doubt that Jesus Christ is the only way, the truth, and the life. John 20:29 says, “Blessed are those who have not seen, and have yet believed.” It is my prayer that we can all trust in Jesus, and reflect the glory of Christ every day. I continually thank God for being in my life, and for sending Jesus to be our Savior.
