In the Bible, Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” I love this verse, because it is a great reminder of God’s unconditional and unending love for us. It is perfectly clear that no matter the difficulties that we face and mistakes that we make throughout life, God will always be right by our side continually showing mercy, grace, and love for us – each and every day.
Have you ever taken the time to really think about this verse, and realize how incredibly blessed you are? There are countless decisions that we have the freedom to make each day: what we do, how we act, what we focus on, what we eat, what we wear, where we go, and the list goes on. We are all human and at some point we will inevitably make wrong decisions or not follow God’s path; but no matter what, there is ALWAYS hope in the Lord. It doesn’t matter how bad we mess up or if our life is going in the wrong direction, with God’s grace there is ALWAYS the opportunity for forgiveness and a new start each morning.
Recently, I realized that I need a new start. I’ve gotten so wrapped up in the “busyness” of life, that I haven’t been spending enough time praying and seeking Jesus’ path for my life. Time is going by so quickly, and I don’t want to be too “busy” to miss what God has planned for me. Now more than ever, I feel like it is imperative that I pray, seeking Jesus’ will for me and where He wants me to spend my time. Jesus continually blesses me each day, and I know that there is so much more that I could be doing for the Lord.
Each day we have the opportunity to have a fresh start, and share Jesus’ love and grace with everyone around us. Life is short, and years go by in the blink of an eye. The devil is continually trying to distract us, and it is easy to get too busy to spend time with God. It is my prayer that each of us intentionally makes the time to put Jesus first each day. Pray and talk with Jesus, and ask Him to lead you to exactly where he wants you to be. Always remember that the His mercies never end – they are new each morning.
